MRT Corse and Julio Garcia: A courageous and data-filled WorldSSP debut at the Cremona Circuit It was a historic and intense weekend for MRT Corse, which experienced its baptism of fire in the FIM World Supersport Championship during the EICMA Italian Round at the Cremona Circuit. For the first time in its history, the team hit the track in the world championship paddock, taking on an exceptionally high-level technical and sporting challenge in the fiercely contested SSP600 category. Defending the team's colors was Julio Garcia, a highly promising Spanish rider called upon to battle the category's top specialists aboard the squad's Kawasaki ZX-6R. It was a severe yet highly formative proving ground, tackled by the entire team with dedication and a strong spirit of adaptation. Right from Friday's free practice and Tissot Superpole sessions, work in the pit box focused on data acquisition and balancing the bike to match the technical demands of the world championship category, while also adapting to tires completely different from those normally used in the CIV Italian Championship. Garcia tackled qualifying by battling in the mid-pack group. On Saturday, Race 1 saw the Spanish rider forced into an early retirement that cut his race short with five laps remaining. On Sunday, following positive feedback from Warm Up, the team reacted with determination in Race 2, allowing Garcia to battle on track and complete the full race distance under the checkered flag, gathering valuable kilometers and experience.

Julio García #48 "It was a very tough weekend for me. I know the team is proud to have taken part in the world championship, especially since it was our first time. Despite a few mistakes made, I take away the realization that we can improve for the future. Getting this far is still a step forward for all of us, and I hope we can continue to do better and better. Personally, I felt comfortable, but unfortunately certain issues prevented us from pushing further, which was our main goal."

Alessandro Antonini - Team Manager "Competing in the world championship was one of the goals we set for ourselves right from the start of this adventure. Everything happened a bit in a rush and without major preparation, as the opportunity materialized on Tuesday afternoon to start the world championship adventure already on Wednesday morning. However, we couldn't pass up this dream: the team responded unanimously, from the first to the last. Lorenzo got off the plane he was taking to go home, those who had already traveled back turned around, and those who were here repacked their bags to set off again. Certainly, the fact that we hadn't tested with Pirelli tires instead of Dunlop penalized us at first, and the workload was greater than anticipated. However, we were there, present, and this is a dream come true. What we achieved amply rewards the efforts of this weekend. Perhaps we hoped for a bit more, but we must consider that we are talking about the 34 best riders in the world here: being right in the middle of that means being part of the elite. It went well, and I sincerely thank the entire team for their exceptional work. Now we'll take a few days to rest, and then we will focus all our energy on the final CIV round at Vallelunga."
